Tending Flowers Woodgrain Gaiwan

Handmade in Jingdezhen by Yue He

The exterior is hand-painted with a faux woodgrain finish, built up in layers of ink and iron-red enamel to recreate the warmth and texture of natural timber. This decorative technique emerged during the Yongzheng period of the Qing dynasty and became especially distinctive in Yongzheng and Qianlong porcelain.

The lid knob bears the inscription Tending Flowers. On the base, a small blue-and-white scene depicts potted plants, grasses, and two figures standing quietly together. Simple and understated, it reflects a gentle idea: tend to flowers to nurture the self; observe the world to quiet the mind.

A gaiwan made for everyday tea, with a small garden to discover in the details.

莳花｜仿木纹盖碗

盖碗外壁以仿木纹装饰，墨彩、矾红等色层层绘出木材自然的肌理；虽为人工绘制，却有近乎天成的温润质感。仿木纹技法始于清代雍正时期，亦是雍正、乾隆两朝极具特色的釉色之一。

盖钮题「莳花」，底部以青花描绘莳花小景：盆栽、草木与伫立的两人，画面简静而有趣味。松和日常，莳花以养性，观物以观心。

一只适合日日使用的盖碗，也是一处可细看的微小园景。
